Nutrition
It is no secret that proper nutrition is needed for peak
sports performance. Many athletes and weekend warriors are
confused about specifics of how many calories to eat and what
type of fuel mix (carbohydrate, protein, fat) will maximize
energy levels. Common questions are “Do I need a carbohydrate
replacement beverage during and/or after my workout,”
“would supplements or ergogenic aids improve my performance,”
and “why do I get muscle cramps.” We can help
you get the answers to questions like these. Whether you are
a top level athlete or training for your first 5K race, we
can give you the nutrition tools to look and feel your best.
CTNC has a significant history of working with athletes.
We currently provide nutrition services for University of
Texas women’s athletics. Our dietitians have been involved
with many of the local races-providing nutrition talks for
all levels of athletes. We provide online support services
for Run-Tex in an ask the nutritionist format. On a personal
level, the dietitians at CTNC are very committed to their
own fitness regime, one as a triathlete, another as a tennis/golfer,
and generally exercising for fun and good health.
