Intuitive Eating

Dieting as a means of managing your weight is based on external controls; by following the most popular diet we learn to ignore what our body is telling us and follow the rules set by the plan. Whether the diet is to decrease fat or decrease carbohydrates or increase protein, we follow what has worked for others and ignore what we need to do for our own body. We were born with the ability to listen to our bodies, but the process of dieting teaches us to stop listening and only listen to what the media, our parents, spouse or doctors tell us we should do. The intuitive eating process teaches individuals how to recapture the ability to listen to their bodies and discover the fuel mix that will assist in achieving their natural weight.
